I’m writing this with a fan pointed on me and thinking of a refreshing dessert that doesn’t involve ice cream because that just doesn’t work in a to-go box. Pop this one in the fridge when you get home and take it out for dessert when you’re ready to cool down and have a light, summery dessert. Fresh figs, pluots and bright nectarines layered with fig leaf pastry cream, and topped with whipped cream nestled in a crunchy almond meringue. Close your eyes and pretend you’re sitting on a cloud.
