kabocha pie and buckwheat breton cookies

Thanksgiving to me is mainly about the pies, so please forgive this lapse in cake. It just seems more appropriate for this holiday to embrace the pie. I also had to fulfill my need to make a new buckwheat cookie, and this one is the perfect end to your gathering around the table or alone with coffee or tea the next morning. Salty and a little savory with crunchy roasted buckwheat scattered across the tops.
